Carlo Ponti

A producer of numerous Italian and English-language films, Ponti has worked with accomplished directors such as Fellini (La Strada, 1954; nominated for Oscar as best foreign film), Jean-Luc Godard, and David Lean. Some of his well-known productions include Blow-up (1966), The Verdict (1974), The Cassandra Crossing (1976), and The Squeeze (1978). His film Dr. Zhivago (1965) was nominated for a best picture Academy Award. Ponti has long been married to actress Sophia Loren.
