Best Known As: The founder of analytical psychology
Jung's fame is second only to Sigmund Freud's in the brief history of human psychoanalysis. He and Freud worked closely for several years, but eventually split on the role of sexuality in human neuroses. (Freud was a great one for sexuality.) Jung went on to develop his own theories, which he called 'analytical psychology.' Jung is also famous for his concept of the 'collective unconscious' shared by all human minds.
The name is pronounced yoong.
