Franklin is perhaps the single most multi-talented figure in American history. His accomplishments are too varied to fully describe here; they include signing the Declaration of Independence, publishing the famous Poor Richard's Almanac, serving as postmaster of Philadelphia, founding the first American fire insurance company, living in Paris as American ambassador to France, and inventing useful objects like the lightning rod, the Franklin stove, and bifocal glasses.
Franklin also coined dozens of popular sayings, including "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise."

Bob Marley

Best Known As: Reggae hero
Beginning in 1964, Bob Marley was part of the Jamaican group The Wailers, along with reggae greats Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh. In the late 1960s and early '70s Marley, a Rastafarian, gained international attention with hits recorded by others, including "Stir It Up" and "I Shot The Sheriff." Marley became the first worldwide reggae superstar with songs that spoke of politics, religion and life on the streets, including his anthemic "Get Up, Stand Up."
Marley's wife, Rita, and his son, Ziggy, have recording careers of their own.

Bette Midler
Born: 1 December 1945
Birthplace: Paterson, New Jersey
Best Known As: Brash singer nicknamed "The Divine Miss M"
Bette Midler had a cabaret act in New York in the early 1970s, and became a star with her Grammy-winning 1972 recording The Divine Miss M. In 1979 she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in The Rose, and the soundtrack album was a hit. In the early 1980s she made a string of unsuccessful movies, but by the end of the decade had rebounded, appearing in Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986, with Nick Nolte) and Beaches (1988). She has a loyal following and is known for presenting elaborate stage productions. Her other films include Hocus Pocus (1993, with Sarah Jessica Parker), The First Wives' Club (1996, with Diane Keaton) and Drowning Mona (2000, with Neve Campbell).
Midler also authored a children's book, The Saga of Baby Divine... Early in Midler's career, her pianist and musical director was Barry Manilow.
