A former art student and model, Gina Lollobrigida began making movies in Italy just after the end of World War II. Along with Sophia Loren, "La Lollo" was among the first post-war European sex symbols, conquering the U.S. in movies and magazines in the 1950s and 1960s. Lollobrigida was also a serious photojournalist, and has published several books of photography.
In 1985 Lollobrigida guest-starred on TV's Falcon Crest.
