Born in Smyrna Georgia on October 28, 1967 Julia Fiona Roberts or Jules as she is fondly known is one of the most popular actresses in America. She originally wanted to be a veterinarian, but studied journalism instead. Her brother Eric Roberts found some success in Hollywood so Julia decided to be an actress. Her debut film was in 1988 when she played in Satisfaction and Mystic Pizza. Viewers quickly feel in love with Julia when she played a major part in Steel Magnolias (1989).
Her early and most-well known part is in Pretty Woman (1990) with Richard Greer. She received an Oscar nomination and won the People's Choice award for Favorite Actress due to this part. Julia played in other comedic romantic roles in My Best Friend's Wedding in 1997, Conspiracy Theory, Notting Hill and Runaway Bride in 1999. She won an Oscar as Erin Brockovich in 2000 and was cute in Ocean's Eleven in 2001. She can be seen in Duplicity in 2009, Valentine's Day in 2010, and Eat Pray Love in 2010.
