Silvio Berlusconi

Silvio Berlusconi born in Milan, Italy, on September 29, 1936 grew from a middle class background to become one of the wealthiest men in Italy. In 1993, Berlusconi created his own right-wing political party and was a three-time prime minister. Berlusconi is still a very powerful political figure in Italy despite his many scandals. Berlusconi's famous quote, "I am the Jesus Christ of politics. I am a patient victim, I put up with everyone, I sacrifice myself for everyone" marks him as a man who believes he is invincible.
Before engaging in his political career, Berlusconi was a vacuum cleaner salesman and sang on cruise ships. He made his fortune in real estate.
With promises to the people to reform Italy's economy, Berlusconi reined as Italy's prime minister until 2006. Using his political party, the People of Freedom he again became prime minister several year later and stayed in this position until his resignation in 2011. He is still very influential in politics and his 2013 support of Enrico Letta proves that he is still the "power behind the throne" in Italy.
Berlusconi is well known for "bunga bunga" sex parties. Women wearing costumes striped for Berlusconi and his friends. He categorically denies this, but there are pictures proving his obsession. From the beginning political career, Berlusconi has been charged with tax fraud, bribery, and embezzlement. He avoided several of these charges by passing a law that established immunity for a prime minister while in office. October 2012 Berlusconi was sentenced to four years in prison for tax fraud. He was again sentenced in June 2013 to seven years for paying an underage women for sex. Berlusconi also stands accused of abusing the power of his office while prime minister.
In spite of his problems, Berlusconi maintains a fortune of $6.2 billion and is a key figure in Italy's current government.
