Ewan Gordon McGregor is recognized for his roles in Transpotting in 1996, in the Star Wars prequel trilogy from 1999 to 2005 as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and in the musical Moulin Rouge in 2001. He was Edward Bloom in Big Fish in 2003 and received acclaim for his roles in theater for Guys and Dolls and Othello. He works with the Children?€™s Hospice Association of Scotland and starred in the documentary Ewan McGregor: Cold Chain Mission. He was appointed officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2013 for his services to charity and drama.
