Born on December 2, 1981 Britney Jean Spears is a singer, actress and recording artist. She was born in Mississippi and grew up in Louisiana. She was doing stage plays and TV programs as a child before contracting with Jive Records in 1997. He first album Baby One More Time in 1999 and Oops!...I Did It Again in 2000 were international successes. Both albums broke international sale records.
In 2001 Spears released her third album Britney and also starred in Crossroads. Her fourth album In the Zone in 2003 gained worldwide success with the single Toxic.
Her publicized personal struggles sent her career into the twilight zone but her fifth album Blackout gave her hits with Gimme More and Piece of Me. Her weird behavior continued throughout the following year. Britney"s sixth album Circus in 2008 introduced the single Womanizer. Her tour The Circus Starring Britney Spears grossed more money than any other concert that year. Her seventh CD Femme Fatale in 2001 gave her three top single hits Hold It Against Me and Till the World Ends and I Wanna Go. Her eighth album Britney Jean released in 2013 was the lowest selling record of her career.
Britney has won a Grammy Award and six MTV Video Music Awards. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and nine Billboard Music Awards. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Britney married Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas and the marriage was annulled 55 hours later. She married dancer Kevin Federline in 2004. She released a fragrance with Elizabeth Arden, Curious and then took a career break. In 2005 her first child Sean was born. In 2006 her second son was born and in November of that year she filed for divorce from Federline.
Spears won Favorite Pop Artist at the 40th People's (2014) Choice Awards for her work in music. Spears in a soprano, but she has very limited vocal ability. All her recordings have digital and robotic effects. Fans go to her concerts to see the sights and ignore the sound.
