Grace Kelly

Grace Patricia Kelly, born on November 12, 1929 in Philadelphia to a wealthy family. Her childhood was perfect and she decided to become an actress when she was very small. After high school in 1947, Grace headed to New York and worked as a model. She made her debut on Broadway in 1949. Grace moved to Southern California for more opportunities to work in motion pictures.
In 1951 Grace appeared in Fourteen Hours. It was a bit part, but a start. She played Amy Kane in High Noon in 1952 and in 1953 Grace appeared in Mogambo. Grace worked with Alfred Hitchcock in Dial M for Murder in 1954 and another standout performance was in Rear Window in 1954. Grace won the Academy Award for Best Actress in The Country Girl in 1954 and in 1955 she played against Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief. Her last film was High Society in 1956.
Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco on Aril 18, 1956. They had three children. She died on September 14, 1982 in a car accident. She was asked to play against Sean Connery in Marnie, in 1964, but the people of Monaco forbade it. He husband Prince Rainier banned all her movies from Monaco. Grace is interred at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Monaco.
