Barbara Bain

Millicent Fogel or Barbara Bain was born on September 1, 1931 in Chicago Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in sociology and relocated to New York. She worked as a dancer and a model. Barbara studied dancing with Martha Graham and then moved on to work with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio.
She is best known for her work in Mission: Impossible in 1966 and she received three Emmy Awards for Best Dramatic Actress. She was then Dr. Helena Russell in Space 1999 (1975). Barbara worked on stage in Wings and Happy Days and The Chairs. She works for numerous charitable causes and is the founder of BookPals an organization that solicits volunteers to read to children in Los Angeles. She also develop the program for many more major American cities.
Bain was married to Martin landau from 1957 to 1993 when they divorced. They have two children. She is a life time member of the Actors Studio and played in Mission Impossible with her then husband Martin Landau.
