David Copperfield

Born on September 16, 1956 in Metuchen, New Jersey David Seth Kotkin is better known as David Copperfield an illusionist. Copperfield has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as knighted by the French Government. He has also earned the Living Legend award from the United States Library of Congress. He is Magician of the Century and his likeness is on stamps in six countries. Copperfield has won 21 Emmy awards for his television specials. He hold 11 Guinness world records and is one of the most sought after entertainers in the world.
Copperfield was only 16 when he was an adjunct professor teaching the Art of Magic (New York University). He was the lead in The Magic Man a musical comedy. This gave Copperfield experience in performing in front of live audiences. He brings new illusions to all his specials and on a scale that is magic. He does not use camera tricks. He has escaped being locked in a safe inside an imploding building, escaping from Alcatraz, levitating and vanishing a 45-ton Orient Express train car and walking through the Great Wall of China. Copperfield holds the record for the most tickets sold in a week with his Dreams and Nightmares on Broadway.
Copperfield founded The International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts which includes 80,000 items of magic history. He worked with Dean Koontz and Joyce Carol Oates plus Ray Bradbury to write David Copperfield's Tales of the Impossible and David Copperfield's Beyond Imagination. His greatest achievement is Project Magic or a program that uses magic as therapy in hospitals around the world. It help motivate patients to regain the dexterity, cognitive and coordination skills by learning simple magic tricks.
Copperfield has never been married, but has one child, Sky a daughter. He broke off a long standing relationship with Claudia Schiffer due to work commitments.
