Michael Jordan

Born February 17, 1963 (Brooklyn New York) Michael Jeffrey Jordan or MJ was a professional basketball player, owns a managing portion of the Charlotte Bobcats and is a well-known entrepreneur. Michael has been known as one of the greatest basketball players of all time and was instrumental in popularizing the NBA in the 1980s and 1990s.
He was a member of the University of North Carolina Tar Heel's championship team in 1982 and joined the Chicago Bulls basketball franchise in 1984. He was a league star prolific in his scoring; leaping skills and ability to slam dunk from the free throw line. He quickly became known as Air Jordan. He was also a highly reputed defensive player in basketball. He won his first championship with the Bulls and won titles in 1992 and 1993. At the beginning of the 1993-94 basketball season, Jordan announced he was retiring to play baseball. His baseball career was pathetic and he decided to rejoined the Bulls in 1995. The Bulls won three additional championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998 under the stardom of Jordan.
He finished out his career from 2001 to 2003 as a member of the Washington Wizards.
He won five most valuable player awards, ten all-NBA first team assignments and nine All-Defensive First Team awards. He was in fourteen NBA all-star games, and won MVP awards in three all-star games. Jordan also won Most Valuable Play in six NBA finals, ten scoring titles, and three steal titles. In 1988, Jordan won the NBA defensive player of the year. ESPN named Jordan as the greatest North American athlete of the 20th century. In 2009 Jordan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
He married Juanita Vanoy in 1989 and they have two sons, Jeffrey and Marcus and a daughter Jasmine. Jordan and Juanita divorced in 2006. He married Yvette Prieto on April 27, 2013 ad they are expecting their first child in 2014.
