A hugely popular actor was born on April 7, 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand by the name of Russell Ira Crowe. Crowe began as a child start on an Australian TV show and made his first movie Romper Stomper in 1992 and The Sum of Us in 1994 put him on the American movie scene. Sharon Stone asked for Crowe for her movie The Quick and the Dead in 1995 and he quickly made Virtuosity in 1995. Crowe?€™s third American film was L.A. Confidential in 1997 and he went on to make Mystery, Alaska in 1999. Crowe can be characterized by his gravelly voice and fiery temper. He usually plays exceptionally talented individuals and enjoys working with Ron Howard and Ridley Scott. He plays characters based on real individuals better than most actors. Crowe learned to play the violin for his part in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World in 2003 and dislocated his shoulder while filming Cinderella Man in 2005. Crowe has a controlling interest in The Australian NRL Team South Sydney Rabbitohs and is ranked #97 on VH1s Hottest Hotties. Crowe is credited with the ranking of #93 on the American Film Institute?€™s 100 most inspiring movies (A Beautiful Mind in 2001). Crowe starred in five movies that were nominated for best picture. L.A. Confidential in 1997, The Insider in 19999, Gladiator in 200, a Beautiful Mind in 2001 Master and Commander in 2003. Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind both won. In 2008 Crowe gained 60 pounds for his role in Body of Lies and lost it for his role in Robin Hood in 2010. Crowe is starring in the movie epic Noah set to come out in March of 2014. Crowe is currently married to Danielle Spencer and they have two sons. They are separated.
