Billy Bob Thornton

On August 4. 1055 William Robert Thornton was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He began his career as a musician by playing drums and singing in the band Tres Hombres. He once opened for Hank Williams Jr. In 1981 he moved to LA to pursue an acting and writing career. He was unable to get work and landed in the hospital with heart problems due to malnutrition. In 1992 Billy Bob starred in One False Move which was well received in Hollywood. He wrote Sling Blade in 1996 plus directed and starred.
Thornton has been married to Angelina Jolie, Pietra Thornton, Cynda Williams and Tona Lawrence. He has one child with Melissa Lee Gatlin. In total, Thornton has four children.
Thornton has numerous tattoos on his arms and lower back and hip. His mother, a psychic, predicted he would work with Burt Reynolds. She was right when Thornton did three episodes with Reynolds in Evening Shade in 1990. In U Turn (1997) Thornton gained 30 pounds, but quickly lost the extra weight.
Thornton and Dwight Yoakum have a production company and produce movies and records. He played in The Man Who Wasn't There in 2001 and gave up smoking after this film. He played Davy Crockett in The Alamo in 2004 and in Bad Santa in 2003. Thornton has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame placed there in 2004.
In the blockbuster Armageddon in 1998 Thornton played the NASA flight director and in The Astronaut Farmer in 2006 he was a former astronaut. He has been estimated to be worth about $20 million. Thornton has one Oscar for his performance in Sling Blade (1996).
