Hayz
Accidental Dignity involves a Masculine diurnal planet, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn above the horizon in a day chart (as the Sun would be) or a Feminine nocturnal planet (Moon, Venus Mars) below the horizon in a nocturnal chart. De Vore observes that, a perfect hayz, according to Arabic astrologers, occurred when a masculine planet was in a masculine sign, or a feminine planet was in a feminine sign.

Heliacal Rising
First visibility. At its heliacal rising, the planet appears momentarily on the eastern horizon just ahead of the Sun; i.e., it rises in the morning sky "with the Sun" (= "heliacal"), just before sunrise, at which time it lapses into invisibility again.

Heliocentric

Horizon
A plane specific to a given location on Earth, which divides the visible hemisphere from the invisible hemisphere. The Apparent Horizon is a plane tangent to earth from a specific location - what we actually see as horizon dividing earth and sky and depending on elevation of the location above seas level. The is a Great Circle, defined by an imaginary plane passing through earth's Geocentric Horizon core, which is parallel to the Apparent horizon. The rational or true horizon is a great circle parallel to the visible horizon whose plane goes through the center of the Earth. The celestial horizon is the rational horizon extended infinitely into space to intersect the celestial sphere.

Horoscope
(Greek: hora + skopein) View of the hour. Original meaning was identical to the ascendant, or rising degree. Largely avoided by professional astrologers, the term has become synonymous with the entire astrological chart, especially the natal chart. Also applied to the Sun-sign predictions, found in magazines and newspapers. A plotting of the geocentric positions of the planetary bodies in relation to earth, as they move through the ecliptic in their annual journey around the sun. Calculated in relation to the place and time of a birth; normally, planets are placed within houses of the chart according to the approximation afforded by a table of houses.

One of the twelve divisions of the celestial equator. Similar to the division of the ecliptic or zodiac into signs. Houses symbolically represent 12 sectors of life situations and/or relationships. Also called Lunes. It also often defined as a lune of the celestial sphere defined by the area between two adjacent house circles The 11th house is the lune between the 11th house circle and the 12th house circle. The 1st house is the lune between 1st house circle (the Horizon) and the 2nd house circle.

Hyleg
The significator of longevity in a horoscope. If the sun occupied an aphetic place, it became Hyleg. Otherwise, the moon was next tested. If neither, the planet which had the most Dignities at the preceding lunation. Otherwise, the ascendant for a day birth; or, Fortuna for a night birth. The time required for the hyleg to progress to an aspect to the anareta was used as an indicator of the length of an individual's life. This practice is considered unethical by professional astrologers.
