His first album, the jazz-influenced 'Dream of the Blue Turtles', went platinum. 1991's 'Soul Cages', dealing with the loss of his parents (who both died of cancer within a few months of each other), and 1993's 'Ten Summoner's Tales', revealed a maturity in his song writing not previously seen, and both albums won Grammy Awards. 1996's 'Mercury Falling' continued in a meditative vein, as the forty-five-year-old artist ruminated on aging and his own mortality. A political activist, Sting has lent outspoken support to both Amnesty International, as well as helping to save Brazilian rainforests. His film career has showed mixed success, but his performances in such films as 'Brimstone and Treacle' and 'Quadrophenia' have been well received. He and his wife, Trudie Styler, live a relatively quiet life on their estate outside London, with their children and dogs.

Trudie was born in Birmingham on the 6th January 1955 and has tried her hand at acting (she has been in films such as Fair Game and Grave Indiscretion) and she was the executive producer of the Guy Richie films Lock Stock and Snatch. However she is best known for being married to that gorgeous singer named Sting.

Sting was already married to his first wife Frances, and ironically it was Frances that met Trudie first - they both appeared in a Shakespeare production of Macbeth. But Frances and Sting spilt up, and it was after this time that Trudie and Sting got together, even though they both received quite a lot of bad press during that period.

They are both keen environmentalists - and founded the Rainforest Foundation in 1989, a non - governmental organization striving to save the tropical rainforests. It is clear to see that the pair are soulmates - and are loathing to go anywhere without each other, in fact Sting has said once 'She's the strong one in the relationship. I'm the dizzy blond!'

Trudie and Sting have been together since 1982, and finally got around to marrying on 22nd August 1992. They have four children together - Coco, Mickey (b. 1984), Jake (b. 1986) and Giacomo (b. 1995).
