The Page of Swords represents this spirit of adventure and investigation. You may be feeling restless, looking at your life and wondering “is that all there is?” If you are looking for more, now is the time to go seek it. You never know what pleasant surprises you might find.
However, the Page of Swords has little of the naive openness of spirit embodied in, say, The Fool. He is curious about the world, but does not venture into it unarmed after all. This card may also serve as a reminder to stay vigilant and examine your situation with truth. Going on an adventure does not have to mean abandoning common sense.

Reversed Card Meaning

For every adventurer, there are at least ten failed adventurers sitting around telling everyone about the action they almost experienced or the beautiful places they almost saw. The Page of Swords reversed stands for these failed adventurers, like fishermen who will not stop talking about the giant fish they almost caught ten years ago.
Verbally setting intentions is a powerful practice, but at some point you must follow it up with action. Are you catching yourself telling many people about the wonderful things you are bound to accomplish, but not actually taking steps to do anything? You may have built up this illusion of yourself as a go-getter, but unless you actually take steps to go on the adventures that you want so badly you will not truly be happy.
The Page of Swords reversed also warns against setting out on adventures without proper preparation. If you do not plan, you will find yourself turning back home at the first obstacle you meet in your path. As you journey, proceed with balance. Do not let your bravery turn into arrogance, or your vigilance into nosiness.
