Dream Dictionary Alligators

When you see an alligator in your dream, as a symbol it is usually representative of deceitfulness. You will probably know if anyone in your life has been especially deceitful in what they have told you in certain cases. You will know what this type of interpretation applies to. If you suspect that one of your friends has been trying to get something out of you, or that someone has been using you lately, or even lying to you, the alligator is representative of this fact. It is fine to play along with someone for the sake of ending a mutually destructive relationship sooner, but if you cannot get this deceitful person to leave you alone, then you might want to try more drastic measures such as cutting off contact entirely.

When you have a dream where you see alligators very near to you, especially if there are multiple alligators, then this can mean that you have a thick skin. Not much that anyone does around you can really hurt you or truly get to you. In some ways this is a good sign. For example it would prevent petty insults and backtalk from making you feel any worse about yourself. On the other hand it could be a terrible thing because it would make it just as hard for positive things such as compliments and declarations of love to penetrate your thick hide. It is fine to close off negative influences from reaching you and to prevent their insults from affecting the way that you feel about yourself, but you cannot shut off the whole world from yourself. This would end well for no one involved.

If you dream that you are running from an alligator then this means that there is some aspect of your subconscious that you are afraid to confront. This could mean that you see a bit of evil or a bit of treachery in your own heart. It is natural to want to think of yourself as perfect, but in all reality it is well known that no one is perfect. Truthfully, the moment that you own up to your negative qualities and start to address them with an upfront attitude rather than trying to hide these elements away, is the moment that you start to heal and really begin dealing with the negative aspects of yourself. You need to learn how to deal and not how to ignore. Ignoring your faults is only a temporary solution.

If you dream that an alligator is taking advantage of you then this usually means that you feel as if you are being held under the grasp of a powerful and influential person in your life. Someone is holding you back from where you really belong and need to be, and it is not working out well for you. You need to do whatever you can to cut this destructive relationship from your life. The sooner you do, the sooner you get back on the track to healing.

I had a dream the other night about 2 alligators. They both looked nearly identical. One bit me and attacked me but the other one was nice and gentle. I ran inside to grab a shotgun and couldn't tell which was which and had to shoot them both.

I've had two dreams about alligators and they were both pretty similar. What I remember is being on a river in what seemed to be a jungle with my family. We had to cross the river but we didn't have a boat. We saw that there was parts of the river that had land so we decided to cross by jumping on those pieces of land. My family somehow got across and then the pieces of land moved and there was a large gap between where I was and the other side of the river. There was no going back so, even though I knew there were alligators, I decided to get in the water and swim the rest of the way there. As I did I tried to be as quiet and gentle so that I wouldn't get the attention of any alligator. I felt something coming at me and I swam as fast as I could. I got to the other side and I was all of a sudden alone with an alligator chasing me... My family had disappeared. Then the scenary suddenly changed and I was now running away from the alligator outside of a shopping center. The alligator disappeared and now I was being chased by some friends. I knew that if I went into one of the stores I could lock them out so I did. I ran into a store and closed the door. Then I looked back at them and smiled as a sign of accomplishment. I woke up confused but excited lol

I have had two dreams about alligators. In the first dream there were two people in a pool, that was dark gross brown water. Two people I did not know at all. You could not see the alligators (two really big ones) until they came up to bit. The people in the pool know the alligators were there, I know alligators were there. The alligators only coming up in order to bit the neck of off. Beheading of one of the people in the pool. I remember not be fearful for the person in the pool, but thinking why don't they just get out of the pool before the alligator attacked. That way did they get in there in the first place. In my dream the person that got their head bit off by the alligators, they did die but they disappeared from the pool. Then I was the other person in the pool and no one was with me or had been with me in the pool. I did not choose to get in the pool, but I was just there. I remember my thought of needing to getting out of the pool before the alligators came up. Before one of alligator could bit my head off, but I had the feeling of not being able to move or it would draw the alligators to me. The feeling that there was no way out of the pool with drawing the alligators attack. There was also no way to stay in the pool without getting attack. The next dream I had I was walking with a bunch of little alligators ( not babies, but smaller), not fearful of them. The alligators were all around me. Still my thoughts were not to move or try to get away from them, or I would draw the attention of them, and if I did they would attack me.

In my dream last night 1/15/15. I dreamt I was trying to catch several alligators in the dark. Only one of the gators tried to bite, but not with intent to kill or harm me. Only way to tell that is the fact that the attempt was like a nip like a dog or cat in a playful sense. I could only use my cell phone light to see them(had to be at least 10-20 of them).

I've dreamt of Snakes on several occasions, with the same outcome of never to harm but merely as a pet or trying to catch it to keep, yet this was the first of Alligators! So I suppose the definition in the second paragraph fits and explains the best scenario and outcome for me!
