Gerard Xavier Marcel Depardieu, a film-maker, French actor, businessman, and vineyard owner. Born on the December 27, 1948 he has acted in more than 170 movies since the late 1960s. He has won the Cesar Award for Best Actor two times as well as a Golden Globe award for Green Card. He played the title role in Cyrano de Bergerac and was honored with a nomination for an Academy Award. Depardieu claims he is a citizen of the world and backs up this announcement with Russian and Belgium citizenships in finalized in 2013. He is also a cultural ambassador of Montenegro.
At the age of 16 Depardieu began acting in the comedy theatre Caf? de la Gare. He also studied dancing with Jean-Laurent Cochet. Depardieu is still one of France's most celebrated actors. His roles in 1492: Conquest of Paradise, Hamlet, and Life of Pi are some of his English speaking films. He can also been seen in 102 Dalmatians (2001), Hello Goodbye (2009), and The Man in the Iron Mask (1998).

Depardieu was married to Elisabeth Gignot from 1971 to 1996 and is currently in a relationship with Clementine Igou. He has four children some of who have taken up acting. Julie, Roxanne, and Jean are his daughters and his son Guillaume died from complications due to a motorcycle crash.
