Nicole Kidman

Nicole Mary Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 20, 1967. She is one of Australia's high value exports. Kidman loved ballet but learned mime and drama. Kidman worked regularly at Philip Street Theater where she was a model student. She dropped out of high school to pursue acting on a full time basis. At 16 she was in the Australian film Bush Christmas (1983). Next Kidman played in BMX Bandits (1983) and in the miniseries Vietnam (1987). She made her first US debut with Sam Neill in Dead Calm in 1989.
Kidman played Tom Cruise's doctor in Days of Thunder (1990), with Dustin Hoffman in Billy Bathgate (1991) and in Far and Away in 1992. Kidman worked in With My Life in 1993, Batman Forever in 1995 and in To Die For in 1995.
In 1996 Kidman appeared in Portrait of a Lady and in 1997 The Peacemaker. Cruise and Kidman filmed the sexual thriller Eyes Wide Shut in 1999. Kidman is known for her emotionally vacant characters as well as her model-like posture. She has been listed in People's Most Intriguing People. In 2001 she was rehearing a dance move for Moulin Rouge and broke a rib.
Kidman is a crusader against child abuse and in 2001 was named E!s Celebrity of the Year. Kidman was nominated for an Academy Award for Moulin Rouge! And is the first Australian actress to win the Best Actress Academy Award. Kidman is highly intelligent, very tall (outsized Tom Cruise by 4"), and never uses a double for nude scenes.
Her current movies are The Paperboy in 2012 and Stoker in 2013. Kidman was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 until 2001 and they have two children. She is currently married to Keith Urban and they also have two children.
