David DUCHOVNY

David William Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 in New York City in the year of the Rat and as a Leo. His father, Amram was a writer for the American Jewish Committee. His mother Margaret, born in Scotland, was an educator. In 1998 Duchovny married actress Tea Leoni. Together they have two children, Madelaine and Kyd. Currently the couple is separated due to Duchovny's addiction to sex and resulting treatment.

David made his way through prep school by working as a lifeguard and a bicycle delivery person. He graduated as valedictorian of his high school class and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in literature at Princeton University. Duchovny has penned a novel, received a master's degree in English literature and pursued a doctorate. Before finishing his doctorate degree, Duchovny began to focus on acting.

Duchovny's first acting gig in 1988 involved a small part in Working Girl. In the early 1990s Duchovny play bit roles in eccentric films including The Rapture, Julia Has Two Lovers and Kalifornia. After appearances in Twin Peaks and Red Shoe Diaries, David landed his breakthrough role in 1993 as FBI agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files. Playing alongside Gillian Anderson as his partner, Duchovny and the X-Files quickly became a cult favorite. Agent Mulder developed into the epitome of a nerdy but exciting sex symbol. In 1995 The X-Files won a Golden Globe Award and the series concluded with movies in 1998 and 2008. Duchovny's success on The X-Files won him parts in several movies. He preferred the small screen, however and in 2007 he returned to television as Hank Moody in HBO's Californicaton.

Speculation is running wild that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are "up for" a third X-Files movie. All the principles are ready to film again and are waiting on Twentieth Century Fox's decision.

Duchovny is also known for his work as an Animal Rights Activist.
