Natalie was born on June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel. When she was very young she left for Washington, D.C. and her family finally settled in New York. She graduated with honors and she was set to attend Harvard University. Her story unfolds when an agent saw her in a pizza parlor at 11. Natalie made her film debut in Leon: The Professional in 1994, Heat in 1995 and Beautiful Girls 1996. She was in the spoof Mars Attacks! in 1996. In 1999 Natalie was cast as Queen Amidala in the prequel Star Wars: Episode I ?Äď The Phantom Menace. After Star Wars she was the lead in Anywhere But Here in 1999 and Where the Heart is in 2000. She then made Closer in 2005 and received an Oscar nomination. She was again Amidala in the last two episodes of the Star Ward prequels. Natalie won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Black Swan in 2010. She acted in The Diary of Anne Frank on Broadway and was a member of the environmental song and dance team The World Patrol Kids under her name Natalie Hershlag. Natalie is trained in ballet, jazz and tap. You can see Natalie in Thor (2011), and the sequel Thor: The Dark World in 2013. Natalie shaved her head for V For Vendetta in 2005 and worked with a vocal coach to speak with an English accent for this movie. Natalie was nominated for the 2008 Razzies for Worst Actress in the movies Goya?Äôs Ghosts in 2006 and Mr. Magorium?Äôs Wonder Emporium in 2007. She was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008 and Natalie also filmed The Other Boleyn Girl in 2008. Natalie is currently working on a film in Israel A Tale of Love and Darkness. She is both the director and acting in the movie. You can also see her in 2014 in an untitled Terrence Malick Project. She is currently married to Benjamin Millepied (2012) and they have one son.
