Cameron was born on August 30, 1972 in San Diego California the daughter of Emilio Diaz from Cuba and an English, Scots-Irish and German mother. Cameron was always adventurous and highly independent. Cameron left home at 16 and moved around from Japan to Australia, Mexico, and Paris as a model. She returned to California at 21 and where her agent secured an audition for the female lead in The Mask (1994) opposite Jim Carrey. In 2002 Cameron signed for a major part in Charlie?€™s Angels and Charlie?€™s Angels: Full Throttle. She earned $20 million for the part of Natalie in the Angels films. Cameron had a major role in Gangs of New York (2002) which Cameron claims is the pinnacle of her career. Cameron Diaz received the 2,386th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009 and her best friends include Drew Barrymore. She has starred in Knight and Day (2010), The Green Hornet (2011) and is currently filming Annie and Basic Math. Cameron was nominated for a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in My Best Friend?€™s Wedding and a nomination for a Golden Glove for Best Actress in There?€™s Something About Mary. She was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress for her part in Charlie?€™s Angels?€™ Full Throttle. Cameron won a Teen Choice Award for Bad Teacher.
