When you dream of being barefoot the most likely cause of this is the fact that you want to be more carefree or feel that you would benefit from being a little more carefree in your daily life. You feel as if you are repressed normally by society (which is completely understandable) and are not allowed to do what you would like. Of course it is mostly societal rules and norms which prevent us from being barefoot wherever we want (remember signs like “No shirt, no shoes, no service?) But either way you want to break through these barriers and just do what you want for a change.Sometimes being barefoot has to do with lower economic status. We are a far cry today from the status of poor meaning unable to afford clothes and shoes. Now we even have organizations designed to help out those that are poor and put them in a nicer position to help them see some more forward movement in their lives. Even if poor shelters can’t house homeless people indefinitely, they can give them a few nights to find somewhere to sleep and they can give them food to keep themselves from going hungry. In addition to that they can be clothed too. So even though we are far ahead of the times in which poor meant shoeless, we still have that association with the poor being shoeless. Therefore if you are barefoot in your dreams it could be a sign that you are experiencing some sort of economic hardship.
If you are barefoot in your dreams, another reason for this could be that you have a low sense of self esteem or that you are struggling with some kind of identity crisis that you can’t seem to get around. This is also a possibility, as bare feet are not something that you see very often in day to day life. It is something that other people hide from you for one reason or another. Some people are embarrassed of the smell. Some people just do not like letting you look at their feet because they are too hairy or because they are not shaped the right way, or for some other reason related to being self conscious over them. But never mind the reason that people like to hid their feet, you probably have one reason of your own why you don’t just show your feet off to anybody, so you can understand how it must feel to have to see bare feet in your dreams.
Sometimes because feet are so tender and it is hard for people to get around when their shoes aren’t on, if you have bare feet in your dreams then it means that you are having some trouble going forward in your life. For one reason or another you aren’t able to make any progress. This is an important symbol to note also.
