You are feeling all kinds of emotions welling up inside you in your waking life and those friends and family that surround you are urging you not to express them. It might cause you to snap mentally. In order to stop having these horrifying dreams you can scream into a pillow or cry to your heart’s content in a field somewhere. Go somewhere where it is socially acceptable to scream and do it there, like at a concert. There are a few places where it is great to scream and other people may even get into it too. It would be best not to violate your family’s expectations even if it may seem like the best thing to do. You need to make sure that your daily life still has some sanctity or else it could lead to people treating you the same way, which would only cause more stress.
To dream that you cannot scream in your dreams because of people in the dream world that are suppressing you in a social way (as in people telling you not to scream for various reasons) then this means that you are feeling insecure in your emotions. You are experiencing all kinds of things but in your heart you feel that these things are not right and thus you are preventing yourself from being able to really let go of that scream that you really need to get off of your chest. You really just need to scream and let it all out so that you can stop having dreams where you cannot scream. You feel insecure in your emotions and think that it would be best not to express yourself. As with the above advice, find somewhere that you can scream in a socially acceptable format.
To dream that you are being bound by something physical like a bandanna or a handkerchief which is preventing you from being able to scream means that you need to relax and chill out in real life. You are starting to stifle yourself and there are all kinds of things that you are doing which are foiling yourself from being able to express the way you feel out loud. It is also possible that there is something on the outside which is preventing you from expressing yourself. There is some exterior thing which is holding you back from being able to cry. Try to get rid of that thing that is haunting you and then you will finally be able to let out all your emotions in a healthy format. This is the best road to satisfaction emotionally.
Not being able to scream is one of the top fears of anyone. The fear of not being able to express yourself or express your fear is a surprisingly common one and one which is pretty valid to be honest. The thing to remember though is that there are few situations if any in which this would happen in real life. You will always be able to express yourself, it just may be a little more socially awkward then you’d like. This is the only thing you really need to worry about.
