Just about everyone has some of Duct Tape lying around and it can be used not only to hold things up or hold things together but it also has legitimate uses in construction and all kinds of other fields. You basically need to do as best you can to make sure that you are holding your life together. Regular tape is just an adhesive that is meant to hold small things together like pieces of paper against glass or sticking pennies on top of one another or for putting a nice painting up on the fridge that was drawn by your child. Duct tape however is used for much more heavy duty issues, like when you really really need to hold something together and there is no other way for you to do it. The thing you're trying to hold together is pretty big and the size of the project is enormous. Basically you've got a lot of work to do and the best way to hold it all together and make sure it all works for you and works correctly to is to use a bit of duct tape. Basically your life is n a shambles and you are trying your hardest to make sure that you can hold it together any way you know how.
