Dream Dictionary Turtles

If your dream contains a turtle or the image of a turtle it suggests a certain contentedness with your life, a broad apprehension towards change characterizes many of your decisions. It also implies a generally willingness to bear the rigors of change in a staid fashion. Turtles also convey information about your relationships if they appear in conjunction with someone in your life. If that person is romantically linked to you it suggests that your relationship is stable and satisfying; change would be unwelcome and likely damaging. If they are a family member it means that you consider them a source of confidence and emotional support. Friends who appear alongside a turtle are viewed as steadfast and loyal, but about all of these people, even the closest, you feel a small, niggling anxiety that you won’t always be near them, that things can’t go on as they are and one day you might lose them. This fear robs some of the happiness of the present.

The presence of a tortoise describes a much stronger willingness to cling to the status quo and a much greater resistance to change; a resistance that often takes on an active form. They also imply that there is someone in your life junior to yourself, who relies on you for guidance and wisdom. Snapping turtles, especially if you dream of being attacked by one, suggest a tendency towards rather bitter melancholy, an inability to let go of the past, indeed a tendency to dwell on it that affects your ability to live in the present. The turtle in this situation is urging you to come to grips with your past, face it openly and then realign yourself towards the future.

A painted turtle is a rare and colourful creature. To dream of a painted turtle suggests that you have found yourself in a situation where you are in over your head. Overmatched by your colleagues, perhaps, or simply not equal to the challenge. But there is hope; it also implies that you are not fully exerting yourself; your hope lies in finding and exploiting that untapped potential. It also suggests a certain level of envy of those around you and their abilities and a sense that they might perhaps be using them to intentionally put you down.

An empty turtle shell signifies a general perception of a lack of intellectual challenge. You find yourself, and in particular your mind, stagnating due to a drought of proper mental stimuli. Under these circumstances you mind has reached out and alerted you to the dangers of stultification, your priority should be to find some hobby or pass time to challenge yourself and exercise your mental powers.

If you dream of a turtle in captivity it suggests that you are rankling under the overbearing influence of another. Your desire to escape this influence informs the activity of your subconscious mind.

I had a dream that a momma crocodile was feeding her baby. Then she saw a giant turyle and swam with the baby in her mouth. The turtle followed trying to eat the baby. What does that mean?

As I was near-waking this morning, I dreamt that I was swimming in a beautiful green-blue sea with a perfectly white tortoise. We were kindred, comfortable, radiant, and fully aware of one another--not worried, hurried, or afraid. We moved together (but not in synchronicity) in fluid, circular swimming patterns, just beneath the surface of the water. It felt beautiful and warm and good. What is the message? What am I to know from this?

Kate, I came here because I had the same EXACT dream.I remember it was crystal blue green water that was so warm, and was somewhere around the surface listening to an instructor or guide talking to me. I was just swimming there, feeling comfortable where I was, and then I popped my head underwater for a second to look at the bottom beneath me, when I was met by a perfectly white sea turtle swimming for me. I felt so overjoyed and overall at peace as the man's droning voice warned me to take caution and i soon drowned his voice and him as well out. I pet and and "played" with the sea turtle just under the surface of the water, it wasn't afraid and let me touch it as much as I would like. I felt so happy and comfortable and joyful.

So, yea that's my story.

I had a dream that I was walking on this beach at night and found an empty nest, I was so intrigued by it and found one more egg in the nest hiding. The egg began to hatch and it was a baby sea turtle, I realized it was the last one and immediately picked it up so I could help bring it to shore. I then randomly ran into someone I knew and showed them the turtle and even sat it down on the sand to see if it would go to shore but then the person I knew pulled out a gun. I wasn't even sure what he was mad about but I wasn't complying with what he was asking of me, I moved toward him and then he shot me. I fell to the ground and kept looking at the baby turtle and the guy that I knew didn't want me to help it, so as I continued to try he shot me again. As more people started to come no one knew what was happening or that I had even been shot but he put his gun away and I was just laying there while the tide started to hit my body. I saw my sister and some friends just playing in the waves that night all around me, oblivious and then I looked next to me and saw the baby sea turtle that had already grown a lot and I pushed its body into the ocean telling it to swim free. Super weird and random dream, just wondering if there was any meaning or symbolism?

I dreamed I was with my ex bf and I saw a turtle. I Asked him to get the turtle for me ,but he didn't .So I picked it up myself . The turtle did not attempt to bite me at no time during the interaction. I saw it by a canal , I later saw some eggs that she laid that was to hatch . when I saw that I change my mind from taking her home in my dream .

I don't know if this falls under dreams as I was awake with eyes closed and relaxed. I saw an elderly Latino woman smoking a cigarette with a turtle/tortoise on her chest. She took a glance at me. The image was so vivid, but brief.
What does it all mean?

I had a dream I was trying to rescue a very large sea turtle from a tree in which its branch has stricken him through his hind legs. He looked at me with soulful eyes and died. I was running from someone or thing when I found the turtle. Came out of the beach sobbing and continued running. This dream was very disturbing and has been bothering me since I've had it.

I dreamt I was drinking orange soda from a bottle and as I am ingesting it I note an odd granular consistency in my mouth making to look at the bottle. I see a blockage in the neck of the bottle which looks like gray granular ice with no hint of the orange color from the soda. I then go to the sink to spit it out, upon spitting it out at first I see some nasty flies like large gnats and then a small green turtle that is aggressively attacking jumping trying to bite me. It lunges at me from the sink miss me but continues to try to attack from the floor. It eludes me and then I woke up.
