You may not realize it, but clinging to your past success does not signal a turn to arrogance as much as it represents a turn to fear. You are afraid of trying new things, so you cling to your past to prove to yourself that you have achieved enough, after all. But in your heart of hearts, you know that it is not enough for you.

We do not live to collect trophies and words of praise. We live to experience life, to try new things, to learn more and more about ourselves and the world around us with each passing day. Relish your new opportunities not because you are trying to prove something to others but because continuous new growth is proof of your own vitality.
