It’s too bad we call the projects we’re really passionate about ‘hobbies’ just because they don’t make a ton of money. That’s a thought you’re going to want to keep at the top of your brain in 2021, Aries. Although you might earn most of your income one way, we’re guessing it’s not at doing something you’re especially passionate about. We’re also guessing that there’s something else (or a few things) that you’d much rather spend your time doing. Your mission for this year, Aries, is to put a little fire under those passion projects and make them overlap with your career more than ever.

When you wake up on January 1st (or the 2nd or 3rd if your New Year’s Eve party was quite the banger), take notice of something: what sounds like the most fun thing for you to do that day? That’s going to be especially important. Maybe not the activity itself, but paying attention to that feeling. You want to wake up with a sense of fun in your life. We’re going to bet money it’s probably not your day job, and that’s okay. You’re looking for things that instill a feeling, whether or not that makes you some income. Take note of it whenever you notice it. Is there something that you can’t wait to do that day? Is there something you hate to take leave of because you have to go to bed so you can wake up for work the next day? These are important signs to take notice of.

There’s some passion project that you’ve been dabbling in or thinking of getting into for a while. Whatever it is, March is absolutely the best time in the 2021 year for you to go full-tilt into it. Even if you’ve already got it going on, go full steam ahead in March. You should even go so far as to take a day off from your job and spend the time fully immersed in it. Pay careful attention to how it feels and how it differs from the feeling at your job. And mind you, if your day job is doing it for you, run with it! Go even further into your work and enjoy, but make sure you’re going further with the parts of it you love, not the tedium.

By July 2021 you might find you have several different projects going at once, lots of plates spinning much to your delight. This is perfectly fine. And if none of these are finished, that’s okay. This is the perfect ‘the joy is in the journey’ moment. Embrace the joy you’re getting from it and start to share it with others. This low key networking is the first step towards you getting your hobbies to make you some money. There will be someone entering your life around the first week of September who has some interesting opportunities for you to make some income at your work. Get to know them well and say yes to what they offer.

There’s a reason we call them ‘passion projects’. Isn’t it so much easier to work hard on something that you’re passionate about? Money alone usually isn’t enough to get us through rough patches in a job. Finding and nurturing those passions, Aries, is going to set your life on course not just this year, but for the rest of your life. You know that motto ‘do what you love and the money will follow’? You need to trust that in your life. The money might take a little while to get there, but it will follow.
