It’s been a tough working year for you, Capricorn. Mind you, it’s been tough for everyone, but we know you’ve struggled especially. Between job insecurity, tough workloads, and doing stuff you’re maybe not that crazy about, work has become a burden and a chore. 2021 is the year in which you’re going to try to do something to turn that around and make your working life a little easier. There’s a full year ahead of you of effort, so you’re going to want to get started right away. Dig in!

If there’s an obvious opportunity at your job to take on extra work or help the company out, January is the time to seize it. This is the prime moment where you’ll have the extra energy to do it AND be noticed by people who matter that you’re putting in the extra effort. This is going to pay off for you tremendously in the last week of the month. This could take the form of a small promotion, a small raise, or just some well-needed thanks from someone you didn’t think knew who you were. Look for that workload to hit its peak around the 18th. You may feel like giving up at this point, but hang on and keep pushing through. It’s going to be worth it.

As great as that’s going to be for you at your job, that also means you’ll be more attractive to other employers as well. Early March is when you’ll want to really buckle down with job searching. Cast your net far and wide when it comes to employment. Even if you hadn’t thought about moving somewhere else for a job, the possibilities could be very rewarding. Work all your networking and job connections, but try to keep this on the down-low: you don’t want your current employer to know you’re looking yet. That’s right: yet. You can make it apparent to them by mid-April 2021. You don’t have to be obvious about it. Just drop some subtle clues that you’ve been fishing and that you’ve caught some interesting leads. They’ll reach out to you by the 21st of the month. Keep your calendar clear at that time.

It might seem odd after all that searching to then try and figure out what your dream job would be, but that’s exactly the order in which we want you to pursue that, Capricorn. Get yourself some solid financial and job footing and then start daydreaming. What sounds like fun to you if money were no concern? What gets you excited in the morning? What could you see yourself doing when you’re 90 years old? These are the questions to ask yourself through the summer. See how much they line up with the job you’re in. If they do, great, keep going. If not, *then* is the time to start planning for where you want to go. Build up that bank account so you can jump in 2022.

There’s nothing lazy about trying to work smarter versus working harder. That’s going to be the main theme of your 2021, Capricorn, and a good mantra for you to hold on to. That may involve major external changes, but likely and more importantly, major internal ones. It’s worth trying to make your job life easier and more fun. Even if you haven’t completely landed on your dream job, you’ll have spent this year working towards making working easier and less of a burden on your brain.
