There’s nothing wrong with wanting the project, promotion, client, credit, or final say. The question is what victory costs. Publicly humiliating someone you’ll need to work with next Thursday is rarely an efficient long-term strategy. Neither is defending a mediocre decision simply because admitting it was mediocre would give someone else the satisfaction.
